Bolivia (La Paz-Sucre-Potosi-Salar de Uyuni)

Alter Cuzco, from its nearest border Puno, we crossed the border to Copacabana in Bolivia. It was freezing cold, just didn´t like the weather in Peru. During the day it was quite hot, after the sunset the temperature dropped to freezing cold.

Located in Copacabana, is the highest lake in Lake Titicaca. The locals were busy celebrating their independent day with lots of parades and confetti on the plazas and streets.

Trucha (trouts) were the most typical and popular food in town.  Fishes were very fresh and good however the Bolivian cuisine didn´t impress the taste of a Penangite like myself especially serving the fish with it´s unclean scale. Haven´t been doing too much in Copacabana, we were heading to the capital on the following morning.

La Paz was a crowded capital with it´s centre lined up with hamburgers venders and it´s people living at the hillsides, seemed like the shape of stadium from the higher area of the Capital.

Lapaz, Sucre and finally arrived at Potosi, the place which was well-known for its miners who worked with very basic tools and hands, all the modern safety and security matters are definitely not an issue.

Felt sorry to see them working in such an unprotected mining conditions especially the kids and teenagers.  The world highest and most famous money making museum-Casa de Moneda during the Spanish colonial time was worth for a visit to understand the history of Potosi.

According to the tourist guide, Potosi used to be the silver & money manufacturer and supplier for all over the world,  Bolivia has now been deprived to make their country notes and coins in Spain and France and get it imported from there.

The last stop in Bolivia, spent 2 days in this friendly nice little city before the 3 Days Salar de Uyuni trek on the 4×4 from Uyuni of Southern Bolivia to San Pedro de Atacama of Northen Chile, some spectacular views of the mother nature.
